In Defense of Cinderella

Inspired by Kataralover's video; link I decided to type up a little thing. To be honest I'm rather surprised to type this one as I actually don't really care for Cinderella. However I don't really agree with a lot of the reasons for her character being hated. I guess you can say that I don't hate Cindy, I don't even dislike her...I just like the other princesses better. The reason I don't care for her centers around the fact that I find her movie boring and therefore can't find her character as fun--hopefully Helena Bonham Carter can spark life into her movie. So sorry this took SO long!!

Female characters today are a far cry from the demure, lady-like heroines of the Classic Age of Disney. They are allowed to wield weapons, they are allowed to lead rebellions, they are allowed to be the brains of the operation. But on the other hand, have we really shed the need to fit every character into a preconceived ideal? Really, I’d say the female characters of today are every bit as idealized as those of the pre-Civil Rights era, simply reflecting our ideals of our modern society, juggling a career, relationship (or entirely rejecting one,)...

Oh my god! This is literally the hardest countdown I've ever done! I did this list awhile back and my opinion has changed radically on all the princesses. With my favourites list, one princess moved, with this list they've all changed places, I used math to help me rank them and I was surprised, especially by my #8. I gave each of them scores of 1-10 for three different areas, face, body and hair. Then added it up. No one got 30 as their final score. Funny enough, even though they're princesses, none of them are perfect. To be honest I'm only sure about my top two, this list could change again...

10.Rapunzel
I don't know if it has anything to do with the 3D animation but I just don't find Rapunzel hot. She looks an 11 year old and she's supposed to be 18. And her face isn't all that great either, her eyes are too freaking large.

Compare and Contrast: Pocahontas and Rapunzel

Another fun idea that came to mind, we take two princesses see just how much they have in common. I wanted Pocahontas and Rapunzel first because Punz is a pretty good balance of qualities found in the classic, renaissance and revival princesses so it's easy to do this with her. Plus, it's a very common misconception that Poca is just this peaceful spiritual wise soul, and that's only half of her personality. What better way to debunk that than to compare her to the one of the bubbliest princesses

Over the years, I've noticed that people really HATE Aurora in Keys To The Kingdom from Disney Princess Enchanted Tales: Follow Your Dreams.
